A Hundred Mangoes in a Bottle

My prize-winning essay of how I spent my childhood summers sharing a love for cooking with my mother. This essay was the recipient of two awards: The Doreen Gamboa Fernandez Food Writing Award and was included in the book of food essays ‘Savor the Word’ (Anvil Publishing Inc. 2012.). The same essay was awarded a Plaridel Award excellence in journalism for Best Food Story given by the Phil-American Press Club in San Francisco, CA (2013)
